TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) The second day of the Kansas Democrats 2019 Washington Days consisted of various meetings.
The 2nd Congressional District meeting took place Saturday morning at the downtown Ramada.
The agenda consisted of Secretary and Treasurer’s reports, focus areas, and the announcement of the upcoming Listening Tour.
Focus areas included; candidate recruitment and support, and increasing voter contact and turnout.
The purpose of the Listening Tour is to provide ideas on how to be more effective across the District.
Saturday March 13th will be the first stop on the Listening Tour. It will be held from 2:30-4:30 pm at Carnegie Cultural Center in Ottawa, Kansas. The second stop is March 30th from 1-3 pm at Papa Don’s Pizza in Ft. Scott, Kansas. The final stop will be on April 13th from 2:30-4:30 pm at Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Rock House in Mayetta, Kansas.
The large turnout had Democratic leaders from across the State excited.
Kansas Senator David Haley says, “We’re energized as a party here during Washington Days to continue to be at the forefront of the values that all Kansans want to work towards to make our state better.”
Saturday night at 7:30 pm Washington Days 2019 will wrap up with a banquet. Governor Laura Kelly and Montana Senator John Tester will be the speakers.
