Brown Foundation celebrates 65th anniversary of Brown v. Board case at Washburn (WIBW)

Hundreds of people packed into Washburn’s Memorial Union for an anniversary banquet.

The event is put on every year by the Brown Foundation.

Along with celebrating Washburn’s role in the historic case, the banquet celebrated the accomplishments of Senator Anthony Hensley and Michael Young.

Young is the artist behind the Brown v. Board of Education mural at the Kansas capitol building.

Hensley sponsored legislation for that mural.
