Senator Tom Holland
About Tom
State Senator Tom Holland has represented the 3rd Senate District since January 2009. He is the ranking minority member on the Assessment and Taxation, Commerce, and Interstate Cooperation Committees. He previously served in the Kansas House, representing the 10th District from 2003 until 2009.
Tom and his wife Barbara have been married for over 34 years. They’re the proud parents of four great kids:
Thomas – 2004 Kansas University graduate / 2000 Lawrence High School graduate
Derek – 2008 Baker University graduate / 2004 Lawrence High School graduate
Brandon – 2011 Kansas University graduate / 2007 Lawrence High School graduate
Louisa – 2019 Oklahoma City University graduate / 2014 Lawrence High School graduate
Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. Since 1994, he has been Owner and President of Holland Technologies, Incorporated. He received the Deloitte & Touche Kansas / Western Missouri Technology Fast 50 Award in 1999 and 2000, and has been a Certified Project Management Professional™ since 2011.
Tom is active in his community, whether through his work with the Kansas Small Business Development Center or as a Webelos Den Leader. He has been recognized by the Kansas Disability Caucus for showing leadership to fund programs for people with disabilities, and he’s coached numerous baseball and softball teams including Louie Holcom Amateur Baseball Association, Douglas County Amateur Baseball Association, LawrenceParks and Recreation, and Lawrence Girls Fast Pitch Association. He is a member of Plymouth Congregational Church.
